Our shearer rang yesterday looking for sheep to carry on shearing during this wet weather, so it was a mad dash to get our lambs sorted and under cover. His other jobs did not have a shed to keep the sheep dry…we are lucky to have our woolshed.

Drafting is how you separate sheep into different lots.  The easiest way is to do this is in the sheep yards where the sheep can move along the drafting race. You need to be organised and know which sheep you will be requiring first as these ones are in the pen adjacent to the ramp leading up into the woolshed. In our case, we needed the lambs, so these ones went into the holding pen on the right.
