Trees Planted for

Massey University Sustainability Conference ’09

Nov 11 2009 – Massey University (at Albany, on Auckland’s North Shore), held a Sustainability Conference Nov 11 – 12 2009. It was attended by both International and New Zealand delegates who submitted various papers for the discussion. A pre-conference tour to The Visy Material Recovery Facility and Education Centre in South Auckland was of great interest, as this plant is one of the most sophisticated recycling facilities in the southern hemisphere. Also on that day, Mr Martin Perry visited the Coast to Coast Tours farm, where 2 totara trees were planted to help offset carbon emissions connected with the conference. These trees [tag #C02 & tag #C2] will later join the other carbon credit trees planted in our farm’s forest reserve.
